The Bar Council and Law Society of England and Wales will be hosting a LGBTQ+ Pride event to mark their continued commitment to inclusivity, visibility and unity across the legal world.
“LGBTQ+ lawyers and their colleagues have participated in Pride celebrations for many years.
“This year the Bar Council and Law Society of England and Wales will jointly host a landmark LGBTQ+ Pride event on Thursday 26 June, connecting LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies in the legal profession.
“This collaboration, called Pride in Practice, marks a continued commitment to inclusivity, visibility and unity across the legal world.
“LGBTQ+ lawyers play an important role in upholding the rule of law, helping shape the justice system and fighting for their clients’ rights. However, we know the fight is not over. LGBTQ+ lawyers’ experiences must be improved, particularly with the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion space facing numerous challenges globally.
“The legal profession must reflect the society it serves – one that is diverse, where everyone can expect to be treated fairly and feel included.
“We are proud to celebrate Pride and continue our commitment to promoting equality in the legal sector.”
