About your chambers:
Forum Chambers is commercial litigation set of chambers specialising in arbitration, banking and finance, civil fraud, company and shareholder disputes, commercial litigation, insolvency and restructuring and professional negligence.
Our barristers take a collegiate approach to matters and any probationary tenant will likely undertake a mixture of their own work and work in assisting the members of chambers’ insolvency team. While any successful candidate may have the opportunity to take on work within other areas that members of chambers operate in, this opportunity is specifically in respect of insolvency law as there is a significant volume of insolvency work in chambers at present.
About the candidate:
A successful candidate is likely to have a keen interest in insolvency law and meet the key criteria applied by chambers: (1) intellectual ability, (2) communicative ability, (3) suitability to chambers and (4) suitability to the Bar.
Whilst experience of insolvency law, whether from pupillage, other employment or academic study, is likely to assist any applicant, it is not a pre-requisite as it is appreciated that not all candidates will not necessarily have had significant exposure to insolvency law previously.
Successful applicants will be allocated a supervisor for the course of their probationary tenancy who will provide feedback and mentoring and will ensure that the successful applicant has the opportunity to undertake work for other members of chambers with a view to the candidate being considered for a full tenancy after completion of the 6 months.
